A Seeking God

How do you know you are a Christian?  If you’re like most followers of Christ, your response will probably include what you did to be saved, or what you did to have faith in God, or how you’ve given him your life. All of those are true statements, but it’s a healthy reminder to know that our salvation is not solely due to an act of our own accord.

You see, we serve a “seeking” God. Without our knowledge, without our consent, even without our deserving it, God sought us out. Before the creation of the world, our perfect God had his sights set on your soul. He desired to adopt us, not because he had to, but because he wanted to. It brought him pleasure. In doing so, it brought attention and praise to his perfect grace; a grace so special it was manifested through Jesus Christ.

Read Ephesians 1:3-6 and take comfort in serving a God who loves you and wants you more than you could ever imagine.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
