“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
Look at the world around you. What do you see? A vast mountain range rimmed with colorful wild flowers. A flower perfect in its symmetry and design. Ecosystems so diverse that we are still unaware of the functions of all their organisms. A planet perfectly created as to afford life to a multitude of creatures greater than our minds could imagine. In all, we see the fingerprints of God in the world around us and it is so beautiful to behold.
I am absolutely fascinated by the many ways I can see God all around me. I’m left with a stronger faith when I realize that science and the physical world point, not to chance, but to God as the answer to our existence. As the verse above says, God’s qualities are found in his creation. And it’s amazing to think that many of the things of this world are not necessary for our survival. It’s as though God found pleasure in creating beauty for us simply for our enjoyment. It’s one more way he has expressed his love and creativity through his creation. And it’s one more reason we can glorify him for his goodness.
