Superhero

I didn’t read too many comic books growing up but I knew a few things about the characters. Superman could fly and stop a speeding bullet. Batman has mastered all forms of martial arts. The Flash was super fast and Captain America defended the freedom of his country. Iron Man was a weapons specialist and that radioactive hero Spiderman could catch criminals with his web. I guess I can see the draw of these fictional heroes. They have great abilities and stand up for freedom and justice.

But I know of a superhero who trumps them all. She has the power to love unconditionally. She can cure any ill with just a kiss and a kind word. Her wisdom is unmatched and she instructs from years of experience. Somehow, she can do a multitude of things at once and still look amazing doing it. Her love for God is unrivaled and her grace is unending. She is praised by all who call her friend and adored by the members of her house.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms closest to me, my mom and my wife, and thank you to all the moms out there who are the true superheroes of the world.
