He Comes to Your Defense

defenseSatan.  The Accuser, the Destroyer, the Thief.  He’s evil and evil enjoys company.  When you’re miserable and defeated, you want to bring as many as you can along with you.  And that’s what Satan does.  He’s so jealous of the love God has for us that he’ll stop at nothing to try to ruin it.  Lies, deceit, pessimism.  All tools that Satan uses to keep our focus away from God.

But God comes to your defense.  “Christ Jesus, who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Romans 8:34).  He knows every trick of the devil.  Don’t you know that Jesus was tempted with the same schemes from Satan and yet remained sinless?  We have a high priest who understands our struggles (Hebrews 4:15).  Who better to have on our side than God?

“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water” (Hebrews 10:22).

  1. Satan is alive and well. He will do ANYTHING to have us turn to him instead of Christ. I fall short a lot but I hope I am a work in progress. I k now I will never be perfect but I can be better. I want to do what Christ commands
Thank you Joe for you daily blog. Keeps me on my feet.

Thanks Diane. It’s interesting how Christians rarely mention Satan or when they do he’s not referred to as a real being. Satan is alive and well in this world and we would be wise to understand what it is that is warring for our souls. The Bible has given us plenty of warning of how Satan wants to steer us away from our true love Jesus. We have to work together to stay committed to the one who gave all to redeem and save us from this world.
