Spiritual Warfare

warrior.jpg“Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.   Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.   For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand”  (Ephesians 6:10-13).

It’s hard to imagine isn’t it?  A spiritual war going on around us.  Satan and his demons warring for our souls while God and his angels intervene on our behalf.  I’d say it would be a little far-fetched if it weren’t for the warning in God’s word above.  We are told to be prepared.  Like any soldier getting ready for battle, we must take up arms in our daily fight against Satan and his desire to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8).

The “Belt of Truth.”

The “Breastplate of Righteousness.”

The “Shield of Faith.”

The “Helmet of Salvation.”

The “Sword of the Spirit.”

These are our weapons.  God is our Commander.  Victory is assured!

Very true. It’s interesting though to see how many people live and see they have no acknowledgement of the war Satan is trying to wage against us.

      1. The strange thing is until we realize it we can do nothing against it but once we know what it is the key is to stop focusing on the negativity of it and call the positivity of God into the situation.

  1. I have witnessed things with my own eyes that brings so much truth to your post. I am so glad because any time the enemy tries to tell me lies I cannot believe him. Not because I refuse to believe, but because I KNOW the truth! God is good! Great post 🙂

  2. With where the world is right now (or in any time of war and discontentment) satan is most present. It so easy to be scared, but like you said, we as believers can be assured. Through Christ, every battle will be won.

I just wanted to verbalize through this post that Satan is defeated and we can have assurance that God will help us through any trial we may face. Thank you so much for taking the time to read the post and comment. God bless.
