In my last post (Part 1), we learned about our inheritance granted to us as children of God. Today, we’ll discuss another aspect of our identity in Christ.
We are a new creation.
Many people, myself included, spend a lot of time working out to stay fit and stave off the effects of aging. Huge amounts of money are spent on gym memberships and workout gear in order to look our best. While it’s a worthwhile endeavor to take care of yourself physically, it is also a lesson in futility. We grow old, our bodies break down and eventually we die.
But as children of God, we are made new. I don’t have to worry about this body I live in. It will one day pass away, but I will live forever. Our bodies will fail us but this new creation we become is eternal. God, living in me through the Holy Spirit, is renewing me daily, making me into the creation that He intended. Just remember, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Faith and Footsteps 
A great thought here Joe! We are born with this mortal “tent,” but just like a camping tent, it isn’t meant for a permanent dwelling. Our spirit is eternal however, and is set for relocation into a perfect and eternal body one day. Good post! Steve
I just love thinking about these promises made to us in the Bible. It’s so hard for our human minds to comprehend things like heaven or regeneration and yet I know that God is so good that whatever I can’t understand now will undoubtedly be far greater than I could ever imagine.
So well put, Joe, and so true. To think of all the promises made to us and to know that each one will be kept is tremendously hopeful! And to try to imagine the glories of some of them may just have to wait until we see the Lord in His kingdom…
