Our Identity in Christ (Part 5)

fingerprintWe finally reach the end of this five part series on our identity in Christ.  (The other posts in this series can be found here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4).

Our home is in heaven.

Can you see it?  Perfection that our minds have difficulty imagining.  The streets, the walls of the city are made of gold and precious jewels.  Old is made new again.  There is no more curse or fear or evil or sadness.  We are in the very presence of God and his light chases away all darkness (Revelation 21-22).

Jesus has done the hard work.  He came to this earth as a man, lived a life of perfect example and then gave that life in place of ours so we could live with him forever.  Death could not hold its sway over him.  But there’s still work to be done.  The race is set before us.  Satan will throw obstacles in the way and try to weigh us down but we must run the race nonetheless.  “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

The finish lies ahead with a reward far greater than any you can imagine.  Your home in heaven awaits.  Jesus has gladly prepared it for you.  I hope to see you there.

Joe, I want to thank you for the support you have given me on my website! I am going to be looking at some other things which I can do in place of writing here. God love and keep you in His Light!

Well I have to say I’m sorry to hear that Steve. I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and I hope you can still find time occasionally to write here every once in a while.
