Don’t Worry About Tomorrow

imageToday, I’m just posting some verses about God’s instruction on worry and anxiety.  It’s been a season full of stress and activity lately and I personally needed to read these passages over again to remind myself that God is always in control and my worry does nothing to fix the difficulties that I face in daily life.  I hope these verses encourage you today to find your sustenance in God and understand that he knows the trials that you face.  Remember, he’s never far away.

James 4:13-15“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”  Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

Matthew 6:25, 33-34- “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”  “ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

John 14:27- “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Psalm 16:8- “I keep my eyes always on the LordWith him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Philippians 4:6-7- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
