Monday Motivation (Our Eternity in Heaven)

fire-pngLooking back over my last several years of posts, I realized that I’ve rarely posted something on a Monday.  I’m not sure why, other than it’s usually a very busy day at work and I find myself distracted by everything else I must take care of that my time to post a devotional is nonexistent.  I want to change that.

Our Monday’s have become so filled with to-do lists that we sometimes don’t take the time to meditate on God’s word the way we should.  While Sunday is the first day of the week and most Christians use that day as a day of worship and to study the Bible, we find that by Monday we are once again overwhelmed by the busyness of life.

Starting today, I am going to begin a new series of posts each Monday titled “Monday Motivation.”  These posts will be short but packed with inspiring and encouraging messages from the Bible and great authors whose words will hopefully stimulate us to greatness in the week to come.  I pray that the Monday Motivation series will be a blessing to you and help you remember that there is much to be grateful for regardless of the day of the week.

Our Eternity in Heaven

Much has been written and many opinions thrown around about the beauty and majesty of Heaven.  If you haven’t done so before, read this passage from Revelation and spend time this week meditating on what it will be like when we finally see Heaven one day.  And understand that no matter what you think of, it will be far greater than you or I could ever imagine.

Revelation 7:15-17“Therefore they are before the throne of God,
    and serve him day and night in his temple;
    and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
    the sun shall not strike them,
    nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
    and he will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
