Monday Motivation (Paul’s Prayer for the Colossians is my Prayer For You)

fire-pngPrayer is such a powerful tool and yet it is so underutilized in our daily lives outside of the physical requests we make of God.  I know the prayer requests we make regarding our daily needs or the health concerns we have for loved ones are important.  We should still be praying those prayers, for they are effective in bringing us closer to God and helping us to rely on his provision.  But even more importantly, we should pray for ourselves and for one another to grow in a spiritual sense, advancing in our knowledge of God and increasing our ability to be more Christ-like in everything we do.  That is my prayer for you today.

“(I ask) that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.  May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”

(Colossians 1:9-12)
